Layouts, Tabs and Child Forms

The same saved layout is used to generate consistent Add, Edit and View pages. Keep frequently used fields easy to reach, use tabs for clear subject groups and choose the correct child relationship for repeatable or independent records.

Field layout

• Use grid widths to place short related fields on one row.
• Place important identification and status fields near the start.
• Use section headings or breaks for smaller divisions.
• Keep field order consistent with the real work sequence.
• Check the result at desktop and mobile widths after generation.

Tab groups and sequence

Assign the same tab name to fields that belong together. Use group and sequence to order tab sets and place them among normal fields. Fields without a tab remain in the regular form flow. Child forms can define their own independent tabs.

Control when tabs appear

Application Tab Configuration lists tabs from the main form and linked child forms. A tab can remain visible, hide on Add, hide on Edit, hide on both, or appear only when a selected radio or dropdown field contains one of the configured values.

Child Forms

Use Child Forms for repeatable rows that belong to the parent record. The Child Forms builder field can place one or more child tables at the correct point in the main layout. Completely empty rows are ignored; started rows must satisfy their required fields.

Child Document Forms

Use Child Document Forms for separate controlled records. They have their own document, form and history and are linked to the parent. Existing child document records appear on the parent Edit page, and users start a new related record from the parent View page.

Test every generated page

1. Create a new parent record and check initial tab visibility.
2. Change the controlling radio or dropdown values and confirm conditional tabs update.
3. Add several child rows and leave one completely empty; confirm it is ignored.
4. Start an incomplete child row; confirm validation identifies its tab.
5. Edit and view the saved record and confirm the same layout and relationships remain clear.
